The Compassionate Care Hospice Society

Volunteer Training Opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of our society. We pride ourselves in prioritizing volunteer training to help our membership better serve our community. Our experienced & fully trained volunteers currently provide bedside sitting in our Hospice Suite, respite services, one-on-one bereavment support and seasonal bereavement support groups.

The Compassionate Care Hospice Society is excited to announce we have had our 2nd round of volunteers complete their Bereavement Facilitator Training!

What does this mean for our Society?

We have now doubled the amount of volunteers trained to offer 8-week bereavement support groups to our community members!

Our first volunteer group was trained in November of 2022 and has since been running many successful support groups. This free 8-week program is available to our community members who are in need of bereavement support following the loss of a loved one.

The demand for this service has surpassed our expectations and we are thrilled to have another 6 volunteers equipped with the tools needed to help our friends and neighbours who may be struggling with loss.

Many thanks to Live & Learn Events & Education for travelling to Rocky Mountain House once again and providing this important training to our volunteers. We would also like to express our sincerest gratitude to the “earth angel” volunteers who take this training into our community and provide needed supports to those struggling. Thank you for gifting your time to this important work.
