Jan’s kitchen stepped up for our little society preparing the meal without any labor costs! All of the Jan’s kitchen crew (and a few other volunteers from our community) generously donated their time preparing an exceptional meal & midnight lunch.

Randi Boulton Music gave us chills with her phenomenal performance. Thank you for everything Randi!

Thank you Rocky for your overwhelming support of our biggest fundraiser of the year! These funds will go a long way in our society providing hospice care, bereavement programs, volunteer training and memorial events for our community.

Cheers to you!

The Compassionate Care Hospice Society hosted our 2nd successful "Canning for a Cause" fundraiser on Sunday September 18th at the Lou Soppit Community Centre.

May thanks to our wonderful community members that stepped up to volunteer! Because of YOU this fundraiser was possible.

Special thanks to Peavey Mart RMH for sponsoring our event once again! The lovely folks at Peavey Mart supplied all of the canning jars!

Be sure to check out Peavey Mart's great selection for your canning needs!

This exciting fundraiser taught our community members the basics of home canning in a welcoming & fun environment. Food preservation is becoming a lost art, and we are thrilled to bring this knowledge to our friends & neighbours!

10am and 1pm sessions were available. Each session was approximately 2.5 hours.

Participants and volunteers worked together to prepare dill pickled carrots and fiesta salsa as instructed by our lead volunteer canning pro, Brigitte. Canning was done on-site with the “water bath” method using only locally grown produce.

Brigitte generously shared her wealth of knowledge about both pressure canning and the water bath method. Participants received recipes for the 2 items prepared and a jar of each to take home.

Extra preserves were available for purchase via cash only. Dill pickled carrots $10 and Fiesta Salsa $5.
